HID Signo Readers: Versatile Access Control for a Changing On-Campus Environment
Access control today requires flexibility. HID Signo™ Readers provide performance and security with adaptability at the core. HID Signo Readers deliver mobile access capabilities, ensure easy migration from Wiegand to OSDP and support the widest range of credential technologies, enabling the option for contactless entry to facilities. Coupled with HID® Reader Manager™ mobile application, universities and colleges can reduce or eliminate physical contact with readers in the field.
Administrators can easily adjust configuration settings, upgrade firmware, inspect current reader status and extend functionality from a mobile device.
Join Michael Chesher and Dave Sherrets for a presentation, demonstration and Q&A session covering HID Signo Readers, HID Reader Manager and how the solution reduces risk for students, faculty and staff for a safer and more secure campus.
Presenters:
Michael Chesher, Northeast Regional Sales Manager
Dave Sherrets, Sales Engineer
Crystal Bazarnic : Welcome, everyone! If you have questions, you may ask here in the chat.
Dave Brown : Is there an option to mount these readers on a glass door? (Rare, but we have a few of these locations).
Amy Surprenant : Vanderbilt has HID Signo 40 and 20 and just rolled out mobile wallet. Reader manager is awesome. Thank you HID!
Amy Surprenant : Dave Brown we haven’t mounted any on glass doors..
Dave Brown : Amy, are you using any wireless online locks too?
Cedric Giles : Amy, can I ask how long have you all been using them?
Amy Surprenant : We have had HID readers for about 7 years. as far as the new Signo 40 and Signo 20 new since July.. we launched mobile wallet on 9/8/20. we have a handful of wireless online locks
Cedric Giles : ok, awesome. Thanks Amy!
Michael Chesher, HID Global : For readers mounted on glass, we would work with Assa Abloy. Assa offers a very nice option for glass doors. Signo readers or any HID would be for a more traditional install.
Diane Harrison : with the watch and phone, does one turn off? 13:24:40
Bankim Patel : With mobile app how far it is away to being used with android devices, such as google play or samsung pay?
Dave Brown : We’re a CBORD school also… why would I use Reader Manager / Mercury panel manager outside of CBORD configuration?
Bankim Patel : thanks.
Amy Surprenant : Feel free to reach out to me at anytime. HID, CBORD and Apple are wonderful to work with!
Dave Brown : great… thanks!
Dave Brown : can we invite multiple users… say with a list? If so, is there a limit?
Dave Brown : do local privileges through Reader Manager override access privileges granted through CBORD? I’d rather control access through CBORD
Dave Brown : got it… thank you.
Amy Surprenant : Thank you HID for being a great partner!
