NACCU Web Conference: Drab to Fab: One Card, One Woman

Presented by: Monica Seko, Manager of Campus Card & Dining Systems, DeSales University

Explore how to successfully run a Campus Card program with limitations of staff, money, and efficiency as a one-person show. Learn the benefits of working with every department, and the struggles and accomplishments of bringing a campus card program up to date with area schools. Future plans and their intended positive impact on the campus environment will also be discussed.

Discussion Questions:

  • Do you run your own Card Services?
  • Do you have Self-Op or Contracted Dining Services?
  • What kind of help do you receive from your institution, colleagues, students?

Monica Seko is the manager of Campus Cards and Dining Systems at DeSales University. She handles ID Cards, meal plans, vending services, laundry, off-campus merchants, and operations of Dining Services. She’s basically a one-woman show with student workers who help during the school year! All implementations, troubleshooting of technology for dining, and administrative duties are a part of her claim to fame as the only person to accomplish this in a timely and efficient fashion.
